Trout Unlimited will be hosting several Dine for Bristol Bay weeks this September in two of our nation's biggest salmon lovin' cities: Seattle, WA and Portland, OR. Grab your forks and Dine for Bristol Bay at participating restaurants and order the wild Bristol Bay salmon special as a way to help us save Bristol Bay!

Many thanks to the more than 20 DC-area restaurants that featured wild Bristol Bay salmon on their menus from March 27 - April 2 as a way of showing that they value Bristol Bay's salmon fishery and want to see it protected from proposed mining development in the Bristol Bay watershed. As part of the weeklong Bristol Bay celebration, Chefs Nora Pouillon, Todd Gray, and Robert Weidmaier released a national chef letter addressed to the Environmental Protection Agency asking for permanent protection of Bristol Bay's salmon fishery. Over 200 chefs, restaurateurs, fish buyers, and others in our nation's food community were signed onto the letter, including celebrity chefs Tom Colicchio, Mark Bittman, and Alice Waters.
Savor Bristol Bay week in Seattle & Portland - a recap:
Bristol Bay's salmon and story came to the Pacific Northwest during a weeklong celebration of the world’s largest sockeye salmon fishery located in the remote corner of Bristol Bay, Alaska. Chefs in Portland, OR and Seattle, WA featured Bristol Bay salmon on their menus alongside information about Bristol Bay’s sustainable salmon fishery and ways consumers can help Trout Unlimited and its partners protect it. Local retailers also featured Bristol Bay salmon in their seafood cases and hosted special demos and salmon cooking classes.
