Southeast Alaska Roadless Report

In Southeast Alaska's Tongass National Forest, TU is working to organize sportsmen, guides, lodge owners and fishing-related businesses to support stronger protections for critical wild salmon watersheds and key hunting areas of the America's largest and wildest national forest and other adjacent lands.

Where the Wild Lands Are: Southeast AlaskaThe Alaska program is working to accomplish this in part by developing information that makes clear to hunters, anglers and others the links among habitat protection, hunting, fishing, business opportunities, and intact roadless areas. TU is building a base of support and providing information through the distribution of publications such as the Where the Wildlands Are: Southeast Alaska report; state-of-the-art mapping in cooperation with the Alaska, Audubon Alaska and the Nature Conservancy; research and coordination with agency experts; and solicitation of on-the-ground knowledge from a wide variety of local stakeholders.
