Restore

Habitat is the most important ingredient for healthy, sustainable wild salmon populations. Without high quality, connected, diverse salmon habitat, you cannot have wild salmon.  That’s why habitat restoration is at the heart of Trout Unlimited’s efforts and the foundation for TU’s grassroots work.  On average, each of TU’s more than 400 chapters donates well over 1000 hours to habitat restoration and improvement every year.

By focusing on salmon habitat restoration, TU is able to accomplish several things: engage TU members and volunteers from around the country, add credibility to TU’s campaigns striving to protect undestroyed and undeveloped roadless areas, and create new economic opportunities associated with watershed restoration, which in turn brings together a diverse range of stakeholders around the common goal of restoring the habitat that sustains wild salmon.
