Sustain

While it is important to protect, reconnect, and restore critical wild salmon habitat along the West Coast, equally important is the need to sustain the robust wild Pacific salmon stocks that we already have, since there are still many viable wild salmon populations that support sustainable salmon fisheries and communities throughout the Northwest.  If consumers stop asking for and choosing wild Pacific salmon, then salmon fishermen will lose their jobs and our wild salmon fisheries will disappear, along with the  coastal communities that those fisheries currently support and sustain.

Therefore, "vote with your fork" and invest your salmon dollars in sustainable, renewable wild salmon resources, since without your consumer dollars we lose the economic incentive to make wild Pacific salmon and their freshwater habitat a priority in our nation’s resource management and public policy.
